Why I write

I write because my characters do not let me rest.

Until I put them on paper, they live inside my mind
 —
breathing, feeling, suffering, loving.
Every day, something happens to them.
Every day, they speak to me.

I don’t imagine my characters —
I live them.

Writing is the only way I can free them,
and in doing so, free myself.
